Toronto, ON. September 5, 2023 – R-LABS – The Real Estate Industry Venture Builder is pleased to announce an important addition to our leadership team. Matt Skynner has joined the company as Managing Director, Operations (MDO), and will be based in our Toronto office. Matt will report to George Carras, Founder and CEO of R-LABS.
Matt will lead the Lab’s operations including Marketing, Human Resources, Legal and Finance. Matt joins the Company from ventureLAB where he served as the Chief Operating Officer.
As the R-LABS platform and its partner companies continue to grow and deliver the much-needed industry innovation to solve major challenges in real estate and housing, Matt’s experience working with all levels of government to enable founders will be critical. While at ventureLAB, Matt’s team doubled the number of companies in funded programs from 60 to 120, increased the jobs created by those companies from 96 to more than 300 per year and increased capital raised in their Capital Investment Program from $9M to nearly $80M.
Matt brings over 25 years of experience in the tech sector. He has held positions such as Corporate Vice President and General Manager at AMD Canada; Vice President, Corporate Marketing at ATI Technologies; and President and Chief Operating Officer at Braingrid Corporation. Matt is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA.
