New innovation partnership set to explore, test, and implement new ideas to support Veraine, Dorsay’s 900-acre sustainable urban development
Pickering, ON (March 31, 2026): Dorsay Development Corp (Dorsay), Hatch, and R-LABS announced today the launch of their Veraine Innovation Initiative. Veraine, a master-planned 900-acre community in Northeast Pickering, is a purpose-built sustainable community being planned and developed by Dorsay. The Veraine Innovation Initiative will explore, test, and implement new ideas to support Dorsay’s Veraine development.
The innovation partnership will focus on creating better models for housing affordability, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, health and wellness, and thoughtful community design. The group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) that outlines a shared commitment spanning priority areas, including industrialized housing at scale, water management and infrastructure, improved planning and process approvals, power and energy systems, transit and more.

R-LABS, the real estate industry venture builder that works to solve the industry’s most pressing problems, will serve as the strategic innovation partner. Their role will be to identify and present Dorsay with transformational ideas that tackle systemic challenges in building affordable, sustainable and resilient communities. R-LABS will bring bold thinking and innovative solutions from inside and beyond its venture studio to support Dorsay in its planning and development of Veraine.
