R-LABS EVENT

Driving Systemic Change

This month, we welcomed partners, collaborators, and community leaders for a thoughtful discussion exploring how new business models can help bridge long-standing gaps between housing, healthcare, investment, and community outcomes.

Thank you to our newest partner, Boann. We’re grateful for their partnership and alignment around a common belief: addressing complex challenges requires more than new technology or increased investment. It requires bringing together capital, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration in new ways.

Moderated by George Carras, the discussion featured Derek Ballantyne, Tyler Chalk, and Mwarigha M.S – Housing and Real Estate Assets Executive, who shared perspectives on housing, healthcare, capital allocation, and the importance of building systems that work together rather than in isolation.

One theme surfaced repeatedly throughout the afternoon: the challenges facing housing, healthcare, and community infrastructure cannot be solved in isolation.

Meaningful progress depends on aligning housing, healthcare, infrastructure, and investment around shared outcomes through new business models and cross-sector collaboration.

A concept that resonated throughout the discussion was “enlightened self-interest”, the idea that long-term success comes from creating value for both organizations and the communities they serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Meaningful change starts when diverse leaders come together around shared challenges and a common purpose.
